Planned Beats Reactive
An emergency call-out costs more than the repair. It costs the downtime, the food in the freezer, the guests without aircon, the shift that could not run. Scheduled maintenance moves that work to a time you chose, at an ordinary rate, with parts on hand.
For a business, it also means the compliance paperwork exists when someone asks for it, rather than being reconstructed after an incident.
What A Maintenance Visit Covers
- Switchboard inspection and thermal imaging
- Safety switch testing — that they actually trip
- Tightening and re-terminating connections found running hot
- Emergency and exit lighting checks
- Power point, lighting and circuit condition
- Motor, pump and plant electrical checks
- Aircon and refrigeration electrical supply
- A written record of what was checked and what was found
Thermal Imaging — Seeing The Fault Early
A loose or corroded connection heats up under load long before it fails. You cannot see it, and a visual inspection will walk straight past it. A thermal camera shows it as a bright spot on an otherwise cool board.
Our thermal imaging is done by a Level 1 Certified Infrared Thermographer, on switchboards, motor circuits and distribution gear. It is the difference between replacing a lug on a Tuesday and replacing a switchboard after a fire.
Maintenance For Businesses And Sites
We run scheduled maintenance for commercial and remote sites across Central Australia — a defined task list, a set frequency, and a report after each visit so the record is yours and not just ours. Defects found are reported with what they are and how urgent they are, so you can decide what gets fixed now and what waits.
For heavier or remote sites see our industrial and remote site electrician page. For a shop, office or motel, the commercial electrician page covers how we work.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should electrical maintenance be done?
It depends on the site and how hard it works. A home is fine with a check every few years or when something changes. A commercial kitchen, a motel, or a site with motors and plant benefits from an annual inspection at minimum, and often more.
What is thermal imaging actually looking for?
Heat where there should not be any. A loose, corroded or overloaded connection runs hotter than the ones around it, and that shows up clearly on a thermal image while the board still looks perfectly normal from the outside.
Do you provide a report?
Yes — a written record of what was checked, what was found, and how urgent each item is. For scheduled site work that report is issued after every visit so your compliance record builds itself.
Can maintenance be done without shutting things down?
Much of it can, including thermal imaging, which is done under load because that is when a fault shows. Anything requiring isolation is planned with you for a time that suits.
Do you do maintenance on remote sites?
Yes. We work out to the remote communities, roadhouses and sites across Central Australia. Travel is quoted up front so there are no surprises.
